The CGS Helios QD is a compact, quick-attach suppressor engineered for 5.56mm rifle platforms. It uses CGS’s patented Varying Core Diameter design, which optimizes internal airflow to support balanced performance in a short-profile system.
Built from a combination of 718 Inconel and 17-4 stainless steel, the Helios QD maintains strong structural integrity even under demanding firing conditions. Although originally intended for 5.56mm setups, this model uses a .36-inch internal bore, giving it compatibility across multiple caliber types. The wider bore helps manage gas flow more effectively, contributing to reduced gas blowback and moderated flash signatures.
A notable highlight of the Helios QD is that it is full-auto rated and does not impose barrel-length limitations, making it adaptable to a wide range of rifle configurations. Its internal geometry encourages gases to move forward through the baffle system rather than venting toward the ejection side, helping maintain smoother cycling on compatible platforms.
CGS ships the Helios QD as a complete modular kit, offering multiple setup options. Included are a 1/2×28 threaded rear cap, a 5/8×24 threaded rear cap, interchangeable sealed front caps, and a 1.375×24 adapter ring—allowing users to configure the system according to their platform’s threading standards.
